It’s a familiar story, isn’t it. The story of Pentecost from Acts. Still, it’s a powerfully strange one. Jesus’ disciples are gathered together somewhere in Jerusalem. The man to whom they had devoted their lives has just been crucified as a common criminal. Then he was with them again. Then he ascended into heaven and wasn’t with them again.
